The aisles are NEVER wide enough in stores to keep their meaty little hands away from the goods, are they?
I don’t know if Mason would pitch a fit, but when I just had one small fry, I would make a B-line for the toy aisle and grab a few noisy/”FUN!” toys for the bub to play with while I raced around and quickly shopped. At the check-out I’d distract him and toss them out of the cart. Worked for 5-6 months, anyway.

Reading this brought back so many memories of when my son was a toddler I can relate to everything!! I have very similar stores to tell but the one I will never forget was the unexpected diarrea incident that caused my to abandon my shopping card and quickly leave the store while trying to contain the mess that looked as if a gallon jug of mustard had somehow exploded near me and my sweet little boy. It was down the cart and plopping onto the floor splattering my shoe before I even had a clue. I was mortified and since the bathroom was located clear to the back of the store I just grabbed him up and my purse and quickly left the store. I know I should have said or done something, made an apology, attempted to clean it but no I panicked and ran! Thankfully I was in a different town shopping that day and vowed never to enter that store again So yes Kris I do feel your pain! lol!!

I totally cracked up laughing (but quietly, Derek is napping) through your whole post. I UNDERSTAND!!!!!!! I bought a retracting clip for my keys and I’ve ended up clipping my keys to the cart and he plays with that instead of grabbing things off the shelves. I also let him chew on my library card while we are in line, it’s better that then chewing on my ATM card. Good luck next trip!!!
